CheckMyBio Terms of Use
Version: 2026-10-11-r2
Last updated: 11 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are a contract between you and Mert Can Taş ("we", "us"), who runs CheckMyBio as an individual (postal address: Yenimahalle, Ankara, Türkiye; e-mail: [email protected]). CheckMyBio means the iOS and Android apps, the web panel at checkmybio.app and the public pages on checkmybio.app.
- You accept these terms when you create an account. We record which version you accepted and when.
- How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and our KVKK Privacy Notice. They are separate documents, not part of this contract.
- If you use the iOS app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA") also applies to the app. If you use the Android app, Google Play's Terms of Service apply to your use of Google Play and to your purchases there (section 13.3).
- These terms exist in Turkish and English. If you live in Türkiye, the Turkish version prevails where the two differ; for everyone else, the English version prevails.
2. Who can use CheckMyBio
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to create an account.
- If you open an account for a business or another person, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for them; they are then bound by these terms too.
- You need a working e-mail address. Your account is created only after you enter the code we send to it.
- One account has one page. Accounts may not be created by bots or other automated means.
- The information you give us about your account must be true, and you must keep your e-mail address up to date.
3. Your account and its security
- Keep your password to yourself and do not share your account. You are responsible for what is done through your account. If you think someone else has access to it, change your password and write to us at once.
- You can change your e-mail address (with a code sent to the new address) and your password in account settings.
- For a copy of your data, write to [email protected] from the e-mail address of your account. We answer within 30 days.
- You can delete your account in account settings with your password. Your page becomes unavailable at once. For 30 days you can log in and choose "Restore account" to get it back. After that the account and its data are permanently deleted from our live systems shortly after the 30 days end. A few things remain for a limited time or for a stated reason (database backups, server logs, e-mail delivery data, the username alone, records of admin actions, purchase history at RevenueCat and photos in visitors' browser caches); section 7 of the Privacy Policy lists each of them.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription (section 10.6).
4. Your page and your content
4.1 What you own
You keep every right you have in what you put on CheckMyBio: texts, photos, links, product details and the rest ("your content"). We do not claim ownership of it.
4.2 The permission you give us
So that we can run CheckMyBio, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to store, copy, reformat (for example resize or re-encode photos), display and deliver your content to visitors and to you, and to let our service providers do the same for us. The permission covers only running, securing and showing CheckMyBio; we do not sell your content or use it in advertising. It ends when your content is deleted from our live systems, except for copies that remain for the limited periods described in the Privacy Policy (for example backups and browser caches).
4.3 Your page is public
Your page is public once you publish it. After the first publish, every change you save is live at once. Anyone with the link can see the page, search engines and other services that read the web may find and copy it, and visitors may share it. We cannot control copies others make.
4.4 Your responsibility
- You are responsible for your content and for having the rights it needs: photos you did not take, brand names, product claims, prices, phone numbers and payment details.
- Publish data about other people (for example an IBAN registered to someone else, or a phone number) only if you are allowed to, and tell them if the law requires it. For such data you are responsible to those people.
- Keep your own copy of anything important. CheckMyBio is not a backup service.
4.5 Advertising and sponsored content
You can label a link as "Sponsored". If you are paid, given products or otherwise rewarded for promoting something, you must disclose it as the law that applies to you requires (in Türkiye, among others, the advertising rules of the Ministry of Trade for social media influencers). The "Sponsored" label helps, but you decide whether it is enough.
4.6 The badge
Free pages show a "Made with CheckMyBio" badge. Only Plus can hide it. Do not remove or hide it by other means.
5. Selling through your page
- CheckMyBio does not take, hold or check payments between you and your customers, and is not a party to any sale. Payment details on your page are shown as you enter them, with a safety note to visitors. Any order, sale, delivery, return or refund is between you and your customer.
- If you sell, you are responsible for following the laws that apply to you as a seller, for example consumer and distance-sales rules, price display rules, invoicing and taxes.
- Prices and product details on your page must be accurate and up to date.
- Order form (applies once the order form feature is enabled in your app): with Plus you can let visitors put products from your page into an order. The order form only prepares a WhatsApp message in the visitor's browser and opens WhatsApp; we do not receive, store or process the order, and the visitor can change the message before sending it. You confirm the order, the price and the details with the visitor yourself.
6. Usernames
- A username is 4 to 30 characters of
a-z,0-9,.and_(3-character names only by an admin), with at least one letter. - Some names cannot be claimed: system and route words, names that look like a protected brand or institution, impersonation patterns (for example a brand name plus "official") and offensive words.
- You can change your username once every 30 days. After a change your old name keeps redirecting to your page for 30 days and nobody else can take it.
- After an account is permanently deleted, its username stays blocked for 30 more days, then it can be claimed.
- A username gives you no ownership of the name. We may release the username of a deleted or deletion-pending account for a trademark or impersonation case.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use CheckMyBio, or let your page be used, for anything illegal or harmful. In particular, you must not publish or link to:
- fraud or scams, including fake shops, fake giveaways and misleading investment or income schemes;
- illegal betting or gambling;
- content that pretends to be another person, brand or institution, or misleads about who you are;
- hate, violence, threats or harassment, or content that promotes self-harm;
- adult or sexual content, and never any content that sexualises minors;
- spam, including mass or automated promotion and misleading redirects;
- the sale of goods or services that are illegal where you or your customers are, such as drugs, weapons or counterfeit goods;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, including publishing other people's personal data without a right to do so;
- malware, phishing pages or anything designed to steal data or damage devices;
- anything else that breaks the law that applies to you or to us.
You also must not:
- try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours, or test, probe or overload our systems;
- copy CheckMyBio pages or data in bulk with automated tools (scraping), except search engines that follow our robots rules;
- reverse engineer the app or the service, except where the law allows it;
- get around plan limits, moderation decisions, the blocklist or a suspension, for example with a new account;
- use CheckMyBio in a way that could harm visitors, other owners or us.
Links to domains on our safety blocklist cannot be saved; this check runs automatically when you save. If a domain is added to the blocklist later, visitors see a warning before they leave the page.
8. Reports, moderation and legal notices
8.1 Reports
- Anyone can report a page or a part of it from the page, without an account. Reasons: fraud or scam, illegal betting or gambling, impersonation, hate, violence or harassment, adult content, spam, or something else. The page owner is not told who reported it.
- We review reports. A page stays visible until we act.
8.2 What we can do
If content or an account breaks these terms or the law, or a report needs urgent action, we can:
- hide an item on your page (you see it marked "Hidden by moderation" and cannot show it again);
- restrict your account (you can still edit, but your page is unavailable to visitors and you cannot publish);
- suspend your account (you cannot log in and your page is unavailable).
Every moderation action is taken by a person and recorded with a reason. We tell you by e-mail when an item is hidden or your account is restricted, with a reason category; a suspended account sees the reason category when it tries to log in. If you think a decision is wrong, write to [email protected] and we will look at it again.
8.3 Notices from rights holders and others
If you think content on CheckMyBio is illegal or violates your rights, use the report form on the page or write to [email protected] with: the page address, the content concerned, why you think it is illegal or infringing, and how we can reach you. We may forward the notice to the page owner. CheckMyBio acts as a hosting provider under Turkish Law No. 5651: we do not check content before it is published, and we remove or block content that is illegal once we are notified of it as that law describes.
8.4 Requests from authorities
We comply with decisions and requests of courts and authorities that are binding on us, for example access-blocking or removal decisions under Law No. 5651, and we may disclose data to them as the law requires. Where we are allowed to, we tell the account owner.
9. Free and Plus
- Free includes, among others: one page, unlimited links and message buttons, up to 6 catalogue cards, up to 3 product blocks, up to 3 payment entries, and statistics for the last 7 and 28 days.
- Plus unlocks the features shown as Plus in the app while you have it. The current Plus features are listed on the purchase screen.
- Whether your account has Plus is decided by our server. Your account has Plus while it has an active subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play or an active Plus period granted by an admin. If both are active, ending one keeps Plus.
10. Plus subscription (App Store and Google Play)
10.1 Buying
You can buy Plus only in the CheckMyBio iOS app or Android app, while logged in, as a monthly or a yearly subscription. The web panel does not sell Plus.
- iOS app: Apple sells the subscription, in the group "CheckMyBio Plus", and takes the payment from your Apple ID under Apple's terms.
- Android app: Google Play sells the subscription on our behalf and takes the payment from your Google account under Google Play's terms. Under those terms we are the seller and Google acts as our agent.
10.2 Price
The price is the one the App Store or Google Play shows you before you buy, in your country's currency and including any taxes the store applies. The app reads it from the store and does not set it.
10.3 Price changes
We may change the price of Plus. The store tells existing subscribers before a price increase takes effect and, where the store's rules or the law require it, asks for your agreement first; if Google Play asks for your agreement and you do not give it, the subscription ends at the renewal. If you do not agree, cancel before your next renewal; a price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
10.4 Free trial
Both subscriptions come with a 7-day free trial if the store says your account is eligible (in the App Store, your Apple ID; in Google Play, a Google account that has never had this subscription); otherwise the purchase screen shows only the price. You have Plus during the trial. When the trial ends, the subscription becomes a paid subscription automatically unless you cancelled it (turned off auto-renewal) in the store. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want it to renew; in Google Play, cancel before the trial ends. Cancelling during the trial keeps Plus until the trial ends.
10.5 Auto-renewal
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and the store charges the renewal to your Apple ID or Google account, until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, the store may give a grace period; you keep Plus while it lasts. In Google Play, if the payment still fails after the grace period, the subscription may be put on hold; you do not have Plus while it is on hold, and Plus comes back if the payment goes through.
10.6 Cancelling and changing period
A subscription is managed only in the store where you bought it. We cannot cancel a subscription for you. After cancelling you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your CheckMyBio account does not cancel the subscription; the store keeps billing until you cancel it.
- App Store: cancel or switch between monthly and yearly on your iPhone: go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions; or use "Manage subscription" in the iOS app, which opens Apple's subscription page.
- Google Play: cancel in the Play Store app: tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions; or use "Manage subscription" in the Android app, which opens Google Play's subscription page. If Google Play does not offer a switch between monthly and yearly there, cancel and buy the other period after your current period ends.
- If you use CheckMyBio on the other platform, the app shows which store manages your subscription.
The subscription belongs to your Apple ID or Google account: after your account is deleted it can be restored on another CheckMyBio account.
10.7 Refunds and your statutory rights
- App Store: refunds are decided and paid by Apple, under Apple's rules; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
- Google Play: within 48 hours of a purchase you can ask Google for a refund in the Play Store app (profile picture, Payments & subscriptions, Budget & history, then the order). After 48 hours, Google refers refund requests to us: write to [email protected]. We look at each request and refund where the law requires it; any other refund is our decision. Refunds are paid through Google Play.
If a subscription is refunded, Plus from that subscription ends.
If you are a consumer, you keep every right the consumer law of your country gives you, including, in Türkiye, the rights under the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Contracts Regulation. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Because Apple sells the iOS subscription, withdrawal and refund requests for it are made to Apple. For a Google Play subscription you can send them to us at [email protected] or through Google Play.
10.8 Restore and moving to another account
"Restore purchases" checks the purchases of your Apple ID (iOS app) or your Google account (Android app) and, if you have an active subscription, gives Plus to the CheckMyBio account you are logged in to. If you restore on a different CheckMyBio account, the subscription moves to that account and the first account loses Plus from it.
10.9 Test purchases
Purchases in Apple's test environment (for example TestFlight) and purchases by Google Play licence testers we set up are not charged. In the public service they do not unlock Plus, except for accounts we set up for testing (for example for app review). Other purchases in Google Play test versions are real purchases and are charged.
11. When Plus ends
Plus ends when your subscription expires, is refunded, is on hold or moves to another account, or when an admin-granted period ends or is revoked, unless another Plus source stays active. Nothing you created is deleted. Content and settings over the Free limits are kept and hidden or paused, and come back when you have Plus again:
- the public page shows your first 6 visible catalogue cards and your first 3 product blocks (you choose which by reordering); you cannot add more while you are over the limit;
- categories are ignored; cards show ungrouped;
- highlighted links show as normal links; scheduled links are paused and not shown (you can remove the schedule to show them always);
- custom appearance and Plus themes are replaced by a free theme; the badge is shown again;
- other Plus-only features pause and keep their settings;
- statistics show the Free ranges; older history is kept.
12. Plus periods granted by an admin
- We may give an account Plus free of charge for a set period, for example as a thank-you, for testing or as part of a campaign. A granted period comes with no obligation: you do not have to post about CheckMyBio or do anything else in return. If you choose to promote CheckMyBio because of a grant, section 4.5 applies to that promotion.
- You do not pay for a granted period and it does not renew. It has an end date, at most 24 months after it started. Your plan shows "Plus until <date>".
- We may shorten, extend or end a granted period at any time; we record a reason internally. We send you an e-mail when a period is granted and when it is revoked; we send none when its end date changes or when it ends on its date.
- While a granted period is active, the purchase screen shows "Plus until <date>" and no purchase buttons. "Restore purchases" stays available.
- A granted period does not change a subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play. If you also subscribe, Apple or Google keeps billing the subscription; cancel it in the store where you bought it if you do not want it.
- A granted period survives a deletion request and a restore, and ends when the account is permanently deleted.
13. Our rights in CheckMyBio
13.1 Ownership
CheckMyBio, its software, design, themes, texts we wrote, the name "CheckMyBio", the logo and the badge belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to them except the right to use CheckMyBio as described here.
13.2 Your right to use CheckMyBio
As long as you follow these terms, you may use CheckMyBio for your own page. This right is personal, non-exclusive and cannot be transferred or sub-licensed.
13.3 The iOS and Android apps
- iOS app: the licence to the iOS app itself is given under the Apple EULA. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its support or claims about it. Where the Apple EULA and these terms both deal with the licence to the app and differ, the Apple EULA applies to that licence.
- Android app: the licence to the Android app is given under these terms. Google Play's Terms of Service apply to your use of Google Play and to your purchases there. These terms are between you and us, not Google. Google is not responsible for the app, its support or these terms.
13.4 Open-source software
CheckMyBio includes open-source software and fonts. Each is used under its own licence, which applies to that component in place of these terms where the two differ.
13.5 Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything. You do not have to send any.
14. Other services and links
Your page and CheckMyBio link to services we do not run, such as WhatsApp, social networks, map services, payment links, the App Store and Google Play. Their own terms apply when you or your visitors use them. We are not responsible for their content, availability or how they handle data.
15. Suspension and ending
- You can stop using CheckMyBio and delete your account at any time (section 3).
- We may restrict or suspend your account, or end this contract and delete the account, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law or an authority requires it, or if your account puts visitors, other owners or us at risk. Before we restrict your account or end this contract, we tell you by e-mail where we can, with the reason and, where it makes sense, time to fix the problem; we may act without this warning when the law, an authority, a safety reason or an urgent report requires it. When your account is restricted, you get an e-mail with the reason category. A suspension is not announced by e-mail: a suspended account sees the reason category when it tries to log in (section 8.2).
- If we close CheckMyBio as a whole, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance, tell you how to get a copy of your data, and delete the data as the Privacy Policy describes. A subscription is then handled by Apple or Google under their rules; cancel it in the store where you bought it.
- Sections that by their nature should survive the end of the contract (for example 4.4, 13, 17 to 20 and 22) stay in force.
16. Changes to CheckMyBio
We keep improving CheckMyBio, so features, limits, designs and plans can change. We may add, change or remove features, including Plus features. If a change takes away a Plus feature you are paying for in a significant way, we tell subscribers in advance, and you can cancel your subscription in the store where you bought it. Test builds and features marked as test or beta may be incomplete and may change or stop at any time.
We work to keep CheckMyBio available, but there will be maintenance, outages and errors. We do not promise any particular availability.
17. Disclaimers
We offer CheckMyBio with reasonable care, but as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose, or that it will bring you visitors, sales or any result. We do not check owners' pages before they are published and are not responsible for what owners publish, sell or promise. Statistics are counted to help you and may be approximate. Nothing in this section limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
18. Limitation of liability
- We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for harm to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited.
- Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage such as lost profit, lost sales, lost data or harm to reputation, or for damage caused by owners' content, visitors, other services or events outside our reasonable control.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to the amount you paid for Plus in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
- If you are a consumer, this section applies only as far as the consumer law that applies to you allows.
19. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your sales or your breach of these terms or the law, you compensate us for the damage and reasonable costs that result, as far as the law allows. We tell you about the claim and let you take part in the defence where we can.
20. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye.
- Please write to [email protected] first; most problems can be solved that way.
- If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you can apply to the consumer arbitration committee or the consumer court where you live or where the transaction took place, within the monetary limits set each year under Law No. 6502.
- If you are a consumer outside Türkiye, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and can use its courts where its law allows.
- Other disputes are decided by the competent courts of Türkiye.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when CheckMyBio or the law changes. Each version has its own version number and date and stays available at its own address; the current version is always at /legal/terms. We tell you about changes that are to your disadvantage by e-mail or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or for security. If you keep using CheckMyBio after a change takes effect, the new version applies. If you do not agree, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription.
22. General
- These terms, together with the documents they mention, are the whole agreement between you and us about CheckMyBio.
- If a part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force, and the invalid part is replaced by a valid rule as close to its purpose as possible.
- If we do not enforce a right at once, we do not give it up.
- You may not transfer your account or this contract to someone else without our agreement. We may transfer this contract to a company that takes over CheckMyBio; we tell you before this happens, and your rights under these terms stay the same.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, wide internet or provider outages, or acts of authorities.
